If you’re looking for a getaway that’s not far from Houston, I’ve found the perfect one for you! The Texas Hill Country has plenty of unique places to stay and this one did not disappoint!
Welcome to the Hill Country Hammock House!

The Hammock House is a modern retreat located in the Texas Hill Country, about an hour outside of Austin (think rolling hills, green pastures, and breathtaking sunsets). This secluded property is a unique, one-of-a-kind experience from the moment you enter the private gated ranch. You can feel the privacy immediately upon arrival at the house. You will drive about a mile down a winding road before you reach the house. The house has a relaxing hammock just off the bedroom balcony, a unique indoor shower, and an outdoor soaking tub. The house also has a full kitchen set up. When you go, bring everything you’ll need and pack enough food because you won’t want to leave once you put your bags down. This property is designed for privacy, relaxation and a little self care. Let’s be honest, we all need a little self care sometimes. This is the best getaway for a solo person or for a couple.
I love the feeling of being away in the woods but knowing that if I needed to run to the store for whatever reason, it’s not too far away. Be ready to truly unplug. There’s no TV and while there’s WiFi, you’ll choose to stay off the grid so you can soak it all in. There is a bbq pit outside for grilling and a fire pit. Oh and be ready to be greeted by some deer! ☺️
The hammock off the bedroom balcony is simply amazing to relax in and the bed is super comfy and dreamy. But can you guess the ultimate relaxation spot? 🤔 If you guessed the outdoor bathtub you’d be correct! They thought of everything!
If you do want to venture outside of the house (not sure why you would though) there’s tons to do in the area less than an hours drive away. The Longhorn Cavern State Park is about 15 minutes away. You’re also surrounded by lakes: Lake Marble Falls, Lake LBJ, Inks Lake, Buchanan Dam, Lake Travis, Colorado River and Pedernales State Park.
Oh and yes you can walk around naked! It’s that secluded! It felt pretty good to just free myself! You can venture off and explore the 200 acre property but I’d put clothes on for that 🤣.
The Hill Country Hammock House is one of my favorite Texas Airbnb stays to date and I’m definitely going to book another stay here in the future!

The host Linda responds quickly to messages and is willing to assist with anything you may need. Airbnb only allows you to book 2 nights but the host does allow 1 night bookings. You just have to contact her directly.
