The 2019 gator hunting season is under way in Lousiana and I took a little ride on the bayou with Chris from Alligator Hunt La to catch me a gator! I’ve watched the T.V. show Swamp People for years and I decided that this season I would be an active participant in a gator hunt. The morning started off with a safety briefing and quick breakfast prepared by Chris and his family. After the formalities were over it was time for a quick ride to the boat launch site. Once on the boat we took off zig zagging our way through the bayou checking lines that had already been set and setting those that needed to be set. We came upon a line that was pulled tight so we knew that it was a possible that a gator was on the hook. Sure enough it was a 12 ft alligator. After pulling the gator close enough to the boat he was shot and brought on board! This was a monster gator and I was super excited to have this monster gator killed on my first alligator hunt. We were able to get another gator and then we headed back to the original meeting location to have lunch and clean the gators. This was such a great experience and I’m glad that I was able to check this off my bucket list!
