If you are active on social media you may have seen the ads for The Getaway House. The Getaway House prides itself in being the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are several locations in different states with each location being 1 to 2 hours away from the closest major city. Reservations are made via the website (https://getaway.house). Just pick the getaway location, the number of guests, and the number of beds. Approximately 1 week before your stay, Team Getaway will send you a text and email to provide you the necessary details regarding your upcoming stay and the day of your arrival you will receive another email and text with the code and name to your cabin. This is a contactless check in but Team Getaway is always available via text. They are super responsive and willing to help in any way to make your stay enjoyable. The cabin for 2 has a queen size bed, mini refrigerator, 2 burner stove, sink, pots, pans, and utensils. The huge window in the cabin really makes you feel like you are one with nature and almost makes you forget that you are just an hour or two from the city. There is a cell phone lock box to really help you disconnect and they also provide you with a complimentary smores package. The cabin has a pretty roomy bathroom for a tiny cabin and there is also a table a chair. The outside boasts a pair of chairs with a firepit and a picnic table. There is also wood avaliable in a waterproof container for the firepit. The Getaway House Houston location has 46 cabins. Each cabin has a different name and they are spaced to where you are not able to completely see the guests in the cabin next to you. There is also a walking trail for a bit of exercise during your stay. Overall this was a great experience and I definitively plan on making a future reservation with The Getaway House!
